What does pre-market and after-hours mean for earnings releases?
Pre-market earnings are released before trading starts, after-hours releases come after the close — so the fresh news doesn't disrupt regular trading. In the US, pre-market usually means before 9:30am and after-hours after 4:00pm New York time, roughly 3:30pm/10:00pm Central European time (off by an hour in the weeks around the clock change, since the US and Europe switch on different dates).
When do German companies release their quarterly earnings?
German companies mostly report pre-market, often as early as 7am before trading opens on the Frankfurt exchange (Xetra) — though some release later in the morning or after the close.
